Leyton Orient's Daniel Happe has agreed a two-year deal with Aberdeen, becoming the club's fourth summer signing. Happe joins the Dons after helping Leyton Orient to promotion twice. The 27-year-old defender becomes the second defensive addition to the team this summer. Happe has been a key part of Leyton Orient's backline since making his first-team debut in 2017, racking up over 250 appearances in the process. During that time, he has also helped the club to promotion twice, once from the National League in 2019 and then from League Two in 2023. The centre-back adds a towering presence to Aberdeen's defence at 6ft 6', and he has expressed his delight at starting the latest chapter of his career in the Granite City. Happe told the club website, 'Having spent my entire career at one club, it was a big decision to move on, but I just felt it was the right time to try something new, and this was an opportunity I could not turn down.' He added, 'I want to thank everyone at Leyton Orient for the help and support they have given me, especially the fans, but I am now ready for a new chapter in my football career.' Happe is excited for a fresh start and to try a new environment. After speaking to the manager, Stephen Robinson, he was impressed by the club's vision and enthusiasm. Happe said, 'He was very persuasive! I had other options, interest from teams in England, but after the call with him, I was in no doubt this was the move for me.' Happe is confident that better times lie ahead with the squad the manager is building. He wants to help the team get back into Europe and win trophies. Happe promised the Aberdeen supporters that he will give everything for the team every time he walks onto the pitch. He is looking forward to settling into life in Aberdeen, meeting his new teammates, and of course, the fans.
