Leyton Orient's January transfer activity is paying off, with a fourth straight win lifting them further away from the League One relegation zone.

What happened?

The O's signed five players just before the transfer deadline – goalkeepers Will Dennis and Tobi Oluwayemi, left-back James Morris, midfielder Dylan Levitt and Stoke winger Favour Fawunmi on loan.

Richie Wellens, the manager, told BBC Radio London that the new players are coachable and want to learn. The team's recent change of pitch at their Chigwell training base has also made a difference, with Wellens saying it's zippy and sharp, allowing them to coach the way they want to play.

Why it matters for Leyton Orient

The O's have climbed to 16th in League One, six points above 21st-placed Blackpool with a game in hand. Their current league standing is 17th, with 51 points from 43 games, and a recent form of DLLDD. Their last result was a 2-2 draw against Burton Albion on 2026-05-02.

What comes next?

The Orient manager believes his players will continue to reap the benefits of the new signings and improved training facilities. They will be aiming to extend their winning streak away to Exeter next weekend. | Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | League Standing | 17th | | Points | 51 | | Games | 43 | | Recent Form | DLLDD | | Last Result | 2-2 vs Burton Albion |
