Stevens told the Orient website, 'This move means a lot to me - I have family ties to east London.' An Arsenal academy product, released by the Gunners aged 16, Stevens played non-league football with Sussex club Worthing before joining Brentford's B team in 2020.

He made his debut for the Bees as a 79th-minute substitute during a 3-0 win over Fulham in the EFL Cup, and later made two appearances in the Championship and one in the Premier League, late on in a game against Southampton in January 2022. Stevens then played five times in the Championship while on loan at Swansea City, before spending the 2023-24 season in League One with Oxford United, where he made 43 appearances in all competitions as the U's won promotion.

At the end of that campaign, Brentford allowed him to join St Pauli but he has now returned to England. His two Wales caps came in friendlies against Gibraltar and Slovakia in 2024.
